How To Skate With Heeleys
Have you seen kids in your street gliding around while they are just wearing sneakers. Do not be tricked for these kids are wearing skates come shoes called Heeleys. Heeleys look just like sneakers, the only difference amongst them and a normal sneaker is that they have a wheel in the sole of the shoe. Heeleys are not only for children but they also give adults the opportunity to walk, run and then skate in a momentarily second. If you do not wish to skate just remove the wheel from the sole of the shoe to convert it to a regular sneaker. However, skating in Heeleys is done a bit differently and you can master it only if you practice it daily for a few days.
Mentioned below are some tips that can make skating with heeleys really easy:
- Initially when you start to skate, do not skate alone in fact make your friend stand right next to you so you can use him as a support. Place the feet in front of each other. Lift the toe of the front foot and try to balance your weight on the wheel.
- Once you have control over your front foot on the wheel, try lifting the toe of the other foot and balance it on the wheel. Do not let go of your friend.
- Tell your friend to walk so that you can roll beside him.
- Practice like this for some days, and when you feel you have good control let go of your friend for short intervals. Skate with the help of your friend until you're comfortable. The trick to skate alone is to place your one foot in front of you and put your entire weight on it.
- Always start with balancing one foot on the wheel and then kick off with another one. Always keep your one foot in front of the other all the time you are skating.
- If you wish to stop lean forward so that your toe touches the floor.
- Always skate on a smooth surface. Do not skate on rocky surface or on a floor with bumps. When you are skating try keeping your hands free so in case you fall you have your hands to support you. Also always wear a helmet, wrist guard, and pads while skating. Avoid skating on a wet floor as it will make the skates uncontrollably slippery.
